Improving governance

Our experience in improving governance has been largely in the not-for-profit sector where we have worked with volunteer boards and committees of management. The principles on which our approach to cultivating sustainable organisations is based apply equally in our work on governance improvement. We assist boards to:

  • Work effectively with the CEO and executive team;
  • Provide leadership;
  • Resolve long-standing, seemingly intractable issues;
  • Develop Strategic Direction and a supporting Strategic Plan
  • Develop workable, meaningful policies and procedures;
  • Become a highly functional team;
  • Benefit from diversity in board membership, background and capacity to contribute to the Board’s work;

Our approach to working with boards is consultative, collaborative and grounded in formal governance training and first hand experience of board membership.
