Change management support

Merger facilitation

FourLeaf Consulting was engaged to facilitate a merger between two DHS funded agencies. Both Boards and CEOs were involved in the project and a ‘Steering Group’ was formed to work closely with the consultant on the design and implementation of the merger process. Outcomes were to be both tangible (various documents) and intangible (engagement with, and commitment to, the project by staff in both organisations). FourLeaf Consulting’s contribution to the project included merger project management, steering group meeting facilitation, preparation of draft versions of various documents for further development by the working group and liaison with legal and financial due diligence experts.

Restructure informed by action research

We  consulted to a working group authorised by the governing body of a large church-based organisation to undertake an in-depth review of structure for the purpose of addressing specific issues of concern. Action research based methods were used to enable the working group to consult extensively with members of each part of the organisation and to generate both cognitive and affective data for use in decision making processes. This approach engendered commitment to the process and supported major changes to the organisation.

From ‘Sheltered Workshop’ to Sustainable Business

We worked with the board and management team of this Commonwealth funded employer of people with disabilities to develop strategic, risk management and marketing plans and processes. Consultation with internal and external stakeholders was integral to this. The catalyst for this project was major reform in the sector.

We also assisted with production process improvement and with preparation and submission of a (successful) application for government funding for new plant and equipment.

In parallel with working toward the above outcomes we assisted this organisation to deal with various aspects of organisational development and change for the purpose of ensuring the long term sustainability. Over the course of this project and in the months following our involvement major changes occurred in the organisation’s approach to governance and leadership.

Staff development, support and supervision

We guided a Victorian based human services agency in the development of a full suite of staff development, support and supervision processes that had buy-in at all levels. The project was designed to increase productivity by providing much needed support to all staff, performance feedback linked to strategic direction and supervision processes focussed on continuous service delivery improvement.
