Examples of our Work
Improving Governance
Governance issues in an International Human Rights Organisation
Our work with the Board of this membership based organisation (all volunteers) has involved design and facilitation of processes to enable the Board to deal with a range of challenging, governance related matters. The work has involved a representative 'working group' of Board members for project planning and design and assisting the whole Board with its deliberations. Throughout, our approach was highly consultative.
Human Services
Consulting projects focussed on improving governance in the human services sector have included organisations in:
- Community health
- Housing and homelessness
- Business Services (employment for people with disabilities)
Our contribution has included:
- Assistance to enable a Committee of Management to move to a more strategic orientation appropriate to the organisation’s size and stage of development.
- Collaborative (working with board members) review of board performance and capabilities.
- Board charter (policy) development.
- Understanding the role of the board and its distinction from the role of the CEO.
- Selection and recruitment of new voluntary board members.
- Recruitment of a new CEO (liaising with specialist recruiters).
