Examples of our Work
Organisational Review - Not-for-Profit and Public Sector
Adult Education provider
Following this organisation’s market repositioning as a provider of adult education, we were engaged to undertake a wide-reaching organisational review for the purpose of assisting the board and senior management team to understand the organisation’s culture as well as the leadership and management implications of necessary cultural change.
We conducted in-depth individual interviews and focus groups with staff in all functional areas followed by a detailed analysis of findings for discussion with the senior management team and, following further work, with the board. To these ends a ‘working group’ of senior managers led the project internally and worked closely with the consultants to consider the findings and the implications for the organisation’s on-going development.
An integral part of this project was the design and facilitation of a two day planning and team development ‘retreat’ with the senior leadership team.
Transitional Housing Service
We worked collaboratively with the management team, staff and board of a transitional housing service in a far-reaching organisational review to explore the effectiveness of operations and to assess the scope for improved client outcomes. The review also included consultation with nearly 30 external stakeholder organisations, including the funding body and a range of organisations served by the service. Outcomes fed into development of a documented change management plan.
Disability Employment Service
A project with this employer of people with disabilities involved a far-reaching review of operations for the purpose of enabling the organisation to respond to major reform in the sector. We consulted extensively both within the organisation and with external stakeholders and discussed findings with a working group which included the manager and a director of the parent organisaton. Melbourne. The main deliverable from this work has been a business development plan and recommendations for fundamental changes to operations, which have now being implemented.
Community Health
A project with a large metropolitan community health service centred on a review of Client Services to assist senior management to deal with major concerns about this function and its part in overall service provision and staff wellbeing. We worked collaboratively with a working group comprising members of the Client Services group and senior management and consulted extensively across the organisation and with external stakeholders. The findings and recommendations from this work provided input to strategic decision making affecting the service as a whole.
In another community health service which had grown considerably we worked with the CEO and executive team to develop a new approach to Corporate Services, more suited to a larger organisaton in this sector.
