Strategy Development and Strategic Planning

Repositioning a Professional Association/Union

Our services were engaged to facilitate and support a major project on which the sustainability of the organisation depended. The focus was on respositioning the organisation in a highly competitive environment in order to ensure membership growth. We played a key role in the project’s design which was based on action research methodology. We also led on-going project planning, workshop design and facilitation and undertook specific new research to address gaps in the knowledge needed for this project’s outcomes. Throughout, we worked with a Steering Committee comprising the National President and the CEO and other board members and managers.

Community Health Service

We worked with the management team, staff and board at a metropolitan community health service to develop a new three year vision, strategic plan and organisational values.  The work involved extensive consultation to develop a high level strategy which would be used as the foundation for operational plans. We worked with the Board, management team and staff in a range of workshop configurations to refine the organisation’s strategic direction. The process was highly consultative. During this project we also produced a report on the organisational development implications of the strategic plan’s implementation.

HIV/AIDS service

We have working with the Board and management team of this service to develop a brand new strategic plan and operational plans.  This plan builds on and replaces an earlier strategic plan.  The consulting role involved working closely with a working group comprising board members, the Executive Director and his management team and staff representation.  The work involved design and facilitation of a highly consultative process which included workshops for the entire board and for the working group, consultation with external stakeholders including the funding body and progressive development of a Strategic Directions document.

Secondary Education Sector

We worked with a group which included secondary school principals, key stakeholders from school sectors and the education board staff whose purpose was to lead the implementation of a new secondary school assessment system. FourLeaf Consulting’s contribution included design and facilitation of a discussion forum, preparation of a discussion document for the group’s on-going work and collaborative design of a framework and process for extending the group’s work.

Housing and Support services

We worked with the Board and CEO of this provider of housing and support services in a four month project to develop a new three year strategic plan. The project involved considerable consultation with staff, clients and other major external stakeholders. A Steering Group comprising board members, staff and volunteers has led the project in a process facilitated by the consultant.
